Instructional Design - Tunnel of Doom - Level 3
Scratch Video Game WorkshopThe Challenge
Create a curriculum for kids (ages 6-12) to learn how to build a video game in Scratch.
Challenge Accepted!
My solution was to design a Scratch course for the kids to build their own video game. I referenced a book version of Tunnel of Doom and then added twists like new levels and flying objects.
While designing the game and curriculum I decided to build two versions. One version has two levels. One version has three levels.
How to Play
- Click on the Green Flag (turn your speaker volume on)
- Touch. your cursor (mouse) to the Cat and see how the Cat connects (like a magnet) to your cursor
- Now with a steady hand and nerves of steal try to lead the Cat through the Tunnel of Doom to reach the Big Taco. Careful not to touch the tunnel walls or you’ll have to try again.
- On level two you’ll need to get home without being hit by the Flying Taco. Try to go as fast as you can!
- On level three you’ll have to run! Flying tacos everywhere! YIKES!
