Creating a Professional Profile

The Challenge

Many times potential employers will seek out your profiles on social media when considering hiring. The challenge here was to create or update your Linkedin profile to accurately reflect not only your current skills and status but to also use as a tool in updating our resumes.

Additionally, we were asked to build out a current resume in a Word doc. This portion of the scope included the challenge of building a resume in clean, styled tables that could easily be scaleable for future listed positions and skills.

The Solution

After researching others in the same industry I was able to identify additional language and skills that I could easily add to my own profile. By creating a user analysis of who I was writing my resume to and what a hiring manager might be looking for, I was able to update my Linkedin Profile and to submit a cover letter and resume that truly reflected my experience, education, and skills.

To improve this deliverable even further I would have required that we research our industry to find which social network is most common.

My Fav Part

“My Linkedin profile now has current, relevant content, and I feel confident including that link on my email signature, my websites, and my other social platforms. Even though I’m not currently seeking employment, I’ve found through this exercise that I need to stay up-to-date on Linkedin.” – Kori
