Hey you guys, welcome to another WordPress Wednesday. I want to walk you through what it looks like if you’re using Yoast and your sitemap feature inside of Yoast breaks on you, or references a “404 Page Not Found” error. I’m gonna show you the fix. Let’s get right to it.

So, over inside of our plugins area. Of course, you’re running Yoast,
and if you go into XML sitemaps…

There it is, right there, XML Sitemaps. Clicking on that. Uh oh, something went missing. This is not correct.

So, the error sometimes just happens with the plugin itself. What we’ve noticed is simply deactivating the plugin and reactivate the plugin. As silly as that sounds.

Go back to SEO.

XML Sitemaps

Click the sitemap and there it is.

Pretty crazy, huh?

So, just deactivate and reactivate. Don’t delete it. Just deactivate and reactivate and it will kind of reset it’s little gear and help you get that little error fixed.

I hope this helps you.
